Vermin & Mole Control

Vermin & Mole Control

If you are having a problem with Moles, Rabbits, Grey Squirrels or any other vermin or pests then you've found the website that can help solve all of your vermin/pest control problems. If you want expert advice on any aspect of vermin/pest control then NCS professional vermin controller is always happy to assist.

Mole Control

Moles can cause significant problems in landscape, agricultural land and garden areas, especially in turf. Because mole damage can be unsightly, makes lawn maintenance difficult, and destroys valuable plants, the number of moles that can be tolerated is usually quite low, sometimes even zero. As soon as you see an active mound or surface runway, initiate appropriate control actions. Once you have controlled damage, establish a system to monitor for reinfestation.

Trapping is the most universally applicable and dependable method of mole control. Several different kinds of mole traps are available at hardware stores, nurseries, or directly from the manufacturer. NCS use Duffus type mole traps as this is proven to be the most effective trap for all types of terrain.

Rabbit Control

Rabbits can be important in maintaining plant diversity in a range of habitats, but they can also cause significant damage. Rabbit populations can withstand high mortality from natural causes, so control efforts by man must add to these, not merely replace them, if direct control is to be effective. Because of the size of the effort required, and the rabbit's inherent capacity for population increase, complete eradication is impractical. Instead, the aim should be to reduce rabbit numbers to levels at which damage is economically acceptable.

NCS catch thousands of rabbits every year but we also guarantee not to be beaten on price, professionalism and service.

Our clients include Private Estates in Northumberland, Private Homes, Small Holdings, Caravan Sites, Arable and Livestock Farms.

We specialise in rabbit management and control, adopting the best suited for each job after consultation with the client.

Squirrel Control

Squirrels since their introduction into Britain in 1870 Grey Squirrels have spread rapidly. They have displaced the Red Squirrels throughout most of England and Wales. The grey squirrel is regarded as an invasive non-native species and has no protection under the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981). They are listed in the IUCN international list of 100 worst invasive non-native species, which highlights the damage that grey squirrels cause to our native flora and fauna; a problem severe enough to be recognised at a level of global significance.

NCS is currently working with Red Squirrel North East and advocates the practices of humane grey culling, targeted in areas where it will directly benefit red squirrel populations.

Wasp Control

Wasps (Vespula vulgaris) are beneficial garden insects. However, they can become a nuisance in summer time. Nests can be found by looking for signs of wasp activity on fine days. You can find the position of the nest by looking for foraging wasps flying either towards or away from a nest.

Wasps can damage wooden fences and garden furniture when they collect wood to construct their nests.

Wasps can cause painful stings and our reaction can be different. For most people, bee and wasps sting are painful for about half a minute and later the area swells as the body reacts to the venom. This may last for a couple of days before subsiding and becoming itchy. Anti-histamine cream or even an ice pack may help. Following a sting, some people can have a life threatening allergic reaction known as anaphylactic shock. They may lose consciousness soon after a sting. It is very important to get them to hospital as soon as possible.

Due to the high risks associated with a wasp nest, NCS are able to remove the nest in a controlled and safe manner by a professionally skilled pest controller.
